Sorry, is there a fix for the above?

Need a VirtualBox VM for testing a game my team is working on?

Do you need linux-headers or the headers for your kernel?
( ex; linux-cachyos-headers or whatever else is being used. )

Not sure, error in VirtualBox is listed below:

Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)

The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver is either not loaded or not set up correctly. Please try setting it up again by executing

'/sbin/vboxconfig'

as root.

If your system has EFI Secure Boot enabled you may also need to sign the kernel modules (vboxdrv, vboxnetflt, vboxnetadp, vboxpci) before you can load them. Please see your Linux system's documentation for more information.

where: suplibOsInit what: 3 VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED (-1908) - The support driver is not installed. On linux, open returned ENOENT.

What kernel are you running?

That looks like you are running linux-cachyos and have its headers installed.

What are you trying to do?

Along with some guesses I might want also to see;

pacman -Qs 'virtualbox|vb'

Have you read the arch wiki on virtualbox? with a cachy kernel you should use the dkms module.

Read 1.1 here.

and the headers for the kernel that you are running.

Just trying to run a Linux Mint Cinnamon VM in VirtualBox.

Your packages look outdated. Your system seems to be in a partial upgrade state.

Do a full system upgrade.

For reference:

❯ sudo pacman -Syu
[sudo] password for jlp:
:: Synchronizing package databases...
cachyos-znver4 is up to date
cachyos-core-znver4 is up to date
cachyos-extra-znver4 4.3 MiB 26.4 MiB/s 00:00 [--------------------------------------------------] 100%
cachyos is up to date
core is up to date
extra is up to date
multilib is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
there is nothing to do

Ok, finally got it working:

I uninstalled VirtualBox in terminal using paru.
I then installed a newer VirtualBox in terminal using paru.

All is well now, thank you very much!

Did you resolve why ypur system was reporting no upgrades available immediately above?
