Hi there, i installed CachyOS on my Asus Zephyrus G14 and almost everything is working fine even with the new nvidia drivers and open module, the only problem I have is missing the applet for the keyboard backlight that does not show, any help?

Hi there, i used asus-linux.org tutorial for arch , but even with asusctl and supergfxctl i dont get the keyboard brightness keys (fn+F2 , fn+F3) working or the tray apple showing. On a native arch install i had it working, tried to reinstall asusctl and supergfxctl aswell but no luck on the backlight keyboard matter.

which command? the command that i use and made two different shortcuts is : asusctl --next-kbd-bright and asusctl --prev-kbd-bright. The shortcut keys (fn+f2 and fn+f3) didnt work out of the box but i made shortcuts but still withou osd notification.
sry I think i might have misread your problem. what i understand from your situation is that you were able to change the brightness using terminal commands ( asusctl -k high) but you dont have a gui option to adjust it like this
Yes indeed is my problem, i dont have gui option for it aswell as osd and fisical keys working otb.
I’ll look into finding a solution and will share it by tomorrow if possible. If not, someone more experience would help you.

I have a Zephyrus G15 2022 (GA503RM) and I have the same issue - Plasma/CachyOS doesn’t recognize the keyboard backlight. I don’t have the option to change the brightness using the brightness applet, nor the keyboard hotkey. I’m currently using ROG Control Center and asusd which does give me back control, but it doesn’t fix the missing control in the applet or the hotkey.
