I've arrived @ CachyOS

Hello. I am arriving from Manjaro at ludicrous speed. It took me reading and watching a ton of reviews of CachyOS, and a failing SSD ¯\_(ヅ)_/¯. Installing the new SSD presented an opportunity. I decided not to restore or reinstall. Time for a fresh start

It took at most 30 minutes to get where I was checking email, surfing, watching movies, and exploring. After installing, I needed to find a few dependencies for EasyEffects, but other than that it was only a matter of installing a few things I regularly use.

I think I’d classify myself as an intermediate newbie. I know enough to be dangerous to myself, so I will definitely be a frequent visitor.

I am blown away at how much quicker my system gets to the logon prompt. Network performance is better, CPU utilization is roughly half of my Manjaro system.

The thought of how MS and Apple spend millions to develop a desktop OS, have thousands of developers, and their OS’s don’t hold a candle to modern Linux. I ditched Windows entirely about two years ago.

I thank the devs for producing such an amazing and powerful workstation operating system.

Ah, but keep in mind, Linux has tens or perhaps hundreds of thousands of devs–and only one boss. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
