Is this not one of the weirdest dependency issues you've ever seen while running updates? I could use some help, please. It only happens when trying to run paru or yay, but not sudo pacman -Syu

So we have another case of “OMG look the update completely does the weirdest things” that is based on a misconfigured pacman.conf. I really start to wonder why that is. Are people actively messing up their pacman.conf but forget about that? Or do tools like pamac and bauh screw the files and people are just oblivious of that?

The more of these cases I see, the less I believe in this ongoing “ooh uuh Arch is such an unstable system”-myth.

Edit: while I wrote this, @keifus666 came up with the actual solution to the puzzle:

Something messed up my repos, so I copied and pasted them from the Arch wiki after doing a live boot and copying and pasting them into the root drive from there using chmod +x or something like that.

Or something like that :laughing: glad to hear you are on the way to recovery, though. :+1:
