Good day!
I would like to share with the community an interesting case from my practice. So …
Anamnesis.
I decided to replace Intel Wireless 3165 with Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200. Everything is as usual: I turned off the computer, replaced the network cards, turned on … The operating system does NOT SEE the network card, but Bluetooth is detected on the card.
Symptoms.
The network card is displayed in BIOS. Judging by the presence of Bluetooth - there is nothing wrong with the card. Attempts to make the operating system somehow find the network card using the official manuals did not lead to anything - the network card is not detected, and low-level methods to make the operating system find the network card cause the commands themselves to hang.
The actions were performed on CachyOS, Kubuntu and MXLinux operating systems.
The solution that made everything work.
I don’t believe in magic, but in this case it all seemed like magic. What follows are the steps that made the Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 network card work.
The following are the steps:
- Turned off the computer.
- Removed the battery from the board.
- Inserted the Intel Corporation Wi-Fi 6 AX200 card into the PCI slot.
- Pressed the power button(!). It is important to keep the power button pressed for more than 30 seconds. This is what some forums on the Internet advise you to do.
- Inserted the battery back into the board.
- Set up the reset BIOS and started the computer.
As a result, the Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 network card was detected and works fine with the old Intel Corporation Wireless 3165.
Motherboard B560M DS3H V2, if anyone will be interested.
