Install Fails for cachyos-desktop-linux-251129.iso

I’m having an issue installing CachyOS on my PC using cachyos-desktop-linux-251129.iso.

I get through all steps of the install wizard and it gets to the last step and errors out:

Installation Failed
Failed to run pacstrap
Details:
Failed to run pacman

It seems to happen right after the wizard runs the rate mirrors action.

Any known fix for this?

Update: two more attempts using an ISO one version back resulted in a new error related to Python and partitioning.

For prosperity I solved this by installing to another SSD.

Turns out that my original SSD’s specific model does not work with Linux at a hardware level.
