Indexing USB drives

Hello people.

I’ve been running CachyOS for a couple of months now without any major issues.
Until today. I have a USB drive with a single folder filled with mp3 files that’s in my car. Using Dolphin, I can see the metadata (artist and album) when selecting a file but the Artist and Album columns are blank so I can’t sort by either. I’ve tried adding the mount path in Settings → File Search but it doesn’t seem to do anything.

My regular Music folder in my Home directory is indexed and artist and album are sortable, so everything works, it’s just the indexing the USB drive that seems to be problematic. I also feel like I shouldn’t have to add the mount paths everytime I wanna index a USB drive (if even possible). If I add the columns in Dolphin, it should just index them on the spot. Or am I crazy thinking this?

Is there a good solution other than copying the entire drive to my desktop or where ever just to be able to sort by artist?

Thank you.

Have we configured “File Search” in System Settings?
This will control what is indexed.

Yes, I have added the mount point to the indexer. It indexes my harddrives so the feature works, it just seems to not index USB drives.
