Just wanted to let the CachyOS team know how much I like the OS. I like they way you included a much better installer, package manager, updater and it is snappier than anything else I have tried. Used Fedora Gnome for a long time and OpenSUSE KDE. Will be using CachyOS KDE for now on. Thanks so much for producing a superior product!!!
Gotta echo this! Switched to Linux/CachyOS after using Windows since basically 3.11, and it’s been a very clean transition 
Still dual-booting because I got a Cyberpunk 2077 install with 300-ish mods (… I know, I have a problem) and I wanna finish the playthrough… But besides that, I can’t foresee much need to use Windows anymore which, honestly, is extremely impressive. And it’s a far cry from the 2010s when I tried… I think Ubuntu? And it was uh… something.

I really haven’t had any problems, I’m getting work done, and I like the cachyos-kernel-manager especially. My system DE is XFCE.
Yes! I came here to the forums specifically to feed back that CachyOS is really excellent. I’m a long-time Linux Mint user and experienced Unix sysadmin (and I still think LM is excellent, but you do notice the slight lags on UI elements). CachyOS is out of the box excellence, snappy, super fast, and very intuitive, with a lot of useful tools ready-installed. Over the years I’ve tried dozens of other distros - Manjaro KDE, Bazzite KDE, Linux Mint, Ubuntu Gnome, Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Xubuntu, and even Crunchbang - but this has been the smoothest ‘migration’ I’ve done, leaving me missing nothing at all from Mint.
CachyOS was a simple installation, very straightforward. I opted for Cosmic Desktop for its half-tiling, half-floating experience. I love that there are 17+ options and they are very easy to switch between or even “mix and match” - for example I can use KDE’s Dolphin file explorer in Cosmic.
My 2024 Lenovo Pro 9i (Intel i9, NVIDIA 4070) is actually now usable on battery for the first time since I’ve had it. I was able to sit unplugged for 3-4 hours which is amazing considering on all previous OSs, battery life had been so short I never even tried to work unplugged.
(I use Claude Code to manage all configs and dotfiles, preserving memory in the form of Gnu Stow’ed configs, and README.md files about the installation. I found doing things this way enables your agent to solve pretty much any config issue safely and quickly, install tools, and fix issues, and CachyOS works well with this - the error messages and online references eg Arch Wiki mean that all problems were easy to solve or work around.)
Have had no glitches, pretty much everything has ‘just worked’, and I’m productive after just couple of days of reinstallation. Thanks for CachyOS!
