I lightly broke my audio

Hi.

I seened to have messed up a few things here…úps

I tried to get jack working, to use my USB Soundcard with my DAW (reaper).
But when I started jack all sounds from other applications, also system were gone. I tried to get a jack sink running, but that didn’t work out.
At some point everything got so bugged, that chachyos didn’t boot anymore.
Thanks for the snapshots I could revert some things I messed up.

But now I have this weird situation, that the sound only works, if I manually (in the system settings, I think it’s pavucontrol) disable my soundcard and enable it again.
But I have to do that every time another application wants to play some audio.

Also, the ProAudio option vanished from the drop down menu.
Also, if the Soundcard is inactive/off, the correct name is shown. When I activate it’s just named playback/recording devices.

So, my question right now is: Can I maybe just reset everything (or preferably just the audio part) to it’s fresh-installation state?

I would try deleting/renaming all of the .config/pulse, .config/wireplumber, .config/jack etc. folders.

Found out, that my device’s name dissapearing is normal if it’s the only device active.
When other devices are active it’s also named correctly. So that’s fine.

But I only found a config folder for pulse. restarted pulse.
But still the same weird behaviour.

Trying to play a test sound when it’s in this weird state gives me an error:

Error trying to play a test sound.

The system said: “Invalid state”

So I probably broke some update/auto-detect functionality…

removing some pulse folders, but not only those in .config, but also in .local/share
That did the trick.
