Depending on what you mean .. this is expected behavior.
It simply is not ‘showing’.

Can't enter password in Alacritty

Hello and welcome, By default the sudo and similar password prompts will not show any input (not even x or # characters) .. just try typing your password and pressing Enter. This behavior can be changed by using the visudo tool to edit the sudoers file. ( Though this is technically not recommended as for various reasons the default behavior is considered more secure. ) Unless I misunderstood the problem?
