I am sold now never distrohop again

well this might sound crazy but i am now sold and so amazed how good CachyOS is and even better paired with Cosmic. Even Cosmic is alpha stage 1 it is pretty damn good and stable(ish) no major issues no crashing etc. The amazed part comes how good it manages Hyprrid systems together and i have actually tripled my battery usage when using CachyOS with Cosmic usually i get max 2 hours and i am now already almost 4 hours in messing and settings things on battery and still have 69% left.

i have always strugled about battery life issues and laggyness on my Dell XPS 9510 and i thought it is cursed since even ubuntu wont work on it as good than this setup now…

great and amazing work for the teams and huge thank you

Lol, glad that you like it @phatle

each morning i am blown away how good this is, how fast this is and i never thought i actually enjoy arch (based) system as main so much. each hour i use i fall in love even more CachyOS and cosmic.

on my thoughts CachyOS should go default cosmic after it is not alpha or beta anymore and let kde/gnome be as those are

and yes i get 6-10 hours attery life on my XPS 15 now that is amazing depends on what i am working on the road but it is enough now

Yeah, I’ve been on arch based distros for quite some time (5 years probably) and I’m far less happy when I’m dealing with apt or dnf based systems (though I must admit, dnf has improved from the old rpm). This is my 2nd time around with Cachy, there were a lot of issues in 22 or 23 (not sure when I first tried it), but thankfully everything is looking good now.
And I want to say that I think that phatle is correct about maybe making Cosmic a central point, assuming it continues to develop as it has.
I mean, who expects to be able to make a first alpha desktop look good? I especially love that everything can be made transparent.
