Just install Cachy OS with hyprland but it doesnt log in?
Same issue here.
When check journlctl -xe I can see that the session is trying to load from /usr/usr/bin… instead of /usr/bin.
Not sure how to fix it as I can’t find the systemd profile in /etc/systemd
I updated using sudo pacman -Syyu
and rebooted and now I can get to the login but when I login my monitors act as if they are connected to nothing. Using hyprland…
@stanleypain I found the file in /usr/lib/systemd/user/hyprland-session.service and I fixed the path issue but I am still not able to log in. I am given a choice between Hyprland and Hyprland (systemd) and after login, my screens just act as if they are getting no input.
I went through my recently updated libraries and went one at a time with downgrade to try to find the culprit. Nothing was restored until I downgraded mesa, glycin and libadwaita. One of those fixed the issue. Here is the final list I downgraded that worked.
[2024-11-23T13:20:04-0800] [ALPM] upgraded mesa (1:24.2.7-2 -> 1:24.3.0-2)
[2024-11-23T13:20:04-0800] [ALPM] upgraded glycin (1.1.1-2.1 -> 1.1.2-1.1)
[2024-11-23T13:20:04-0800] [ALPM] upgraded libadwaita (1:1.6.1-1.1 -> 1:1.6.2-1.1)
Hopefully someone can look into this further as it is definitely causing issues with loading the Hyprland desktop.
UPDATED: After looking into glycin and libadwaita, I am assuming those had nothing to do with it. I did downgrade other libraries pertaining to mesa. Here is a full list of what was downgraded:

I had the same issue, so I followed the advice of @jayemdaet, and made an executable file:
for pkg in $(grep "2024-11-24" /var/log/pacman.log | grep upgraded | awk '{print $4}');
do
sudo downgrade "$pkg"
done
To downgrade some of these suspicious packages:

Shit’s back to normal, at least for now.
It looks like it might be the new mesa that somehow causes it to break.
Although my Hyprland setup is still working fine, although I’m on a AMD laptop.
It was happening for me on an Intel GPU:
GPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics @ 1.45 GHz [Integrated]
I should’ve mentioned my current graphics info too:

Same issue. I just had a fresh install. It is stuck at the login as soon as I enter the password. I Can switch to a the console, but I just get a flashy cursor with no chance to interact. I don’t see many options except installing another desktop.
Make sure you are not trying to use the Hyprland (systemd session) entry in SDDM when logging in.
I just did a fresh install (although didn’t select hyprland on the installer and I can login normally).
Thanks for the answer. I tried standard and systemd sessions but nothing worked. I couldn’t even access a working terminal.
@Ma_1900 I had the same issue. Neither Hyprland or Hyperland systemd session worked. Once you try to login and are on the blank screen after logging in, I hit Ctrl-Alt-F3 to get me to a command line prompt where I could login and use the downgrade
cli app to downgrade the mesa library and anything else mesa
related (see my list above though it contains apps outside of mesa as well). You can use the list I provided to find a version that works currently.
It would be sure nice to know if this is a mesa driver issue, a hyprland compatibility issue or a wayland compatibility issue or some combination of them and when it will be remedied.
Looks to be a known issue on Mesa
Seems to affect atleast Intel and Nvidia.
Downgrading to 24.2.7 seems to have helped others
Thanks, unfortunately ctrl alt F3 was unresponsive. I could only switch from a blank screen to a stuck login with F1/F2. So I already switched to a different DE.
As an old monkey who was a contributor to Xfce 20 years ago, I gave a try to the modern Xfce, and cannot say I was happy with the result. I guess I will land on sway soon.
