How to install LibreOffice without extra components?

How do I install it without Calc, Draw, etc?

I tried:

  • installing libreoffice-fresh through “CachyOS Package Installer” but there was no option to just download the components I want.
  • installing LibreOffice with Flatpak through Shelly but same issue.
  • removing it from both package managers but both of them won’t let me remove specific components; they just remove LibreOffice as a whole
  • only LibreOffice-dev is available in AUR through Shelly

Arch builds them as single monolithic packages… and all launchers point to soffice.

The TOTAL installed size is only about 420MB, too small to worry about on any modern system (even with my 250GB SSD…) so not worth the effort of splitting because the bulk is a massive common codebase, so the components are negligible in comparison.

Welcome to the forum!

There are no split packages, as was mentioned above. You get the entire suite.

If I remember correctly, that is also how it is shipped on Windows, but please correct me if I am wrong.

No split packages on Windows either. Even if you choose custom installation, you just can select/deselect some language dictionaries.
