Help! Stuttering then entire PC crashes. (Latest April 2026 version)

I am a Linux newbie and have recently decided to migrate to CachyOS from windows 11. I am using an Acer Aspire A314-23M. So far i have fixed most of the problems thanks to this forum but i still have a couple glaring problems that i would love fixes for:

When playing games or watching youtube videos my laptop would randomly stutter then crash and restart.

The game i was playing is ULTRAKILL on steam if it means anything + the game audio is incredibly crackly(?) while wearing headphones.

I cannot enter the BIOS setup screen

The settings i selected if i recall correctly are:
GRUB bootloader, KDE Plasma desktop, erase all data and BTRFS file system (so not dual boot)

Feel free to ask me for more info and ill try to answer ASAP, and any assistance would be appreciated.

Check if hdd is dying, especially if youre on a mechanical drive. They dont usually crash as hard as with ram issues. If its not the hdd, i would try with a single ram stick, until you pin-point the issue. If its neither, i would suspect the gpu may be dying. What you can do is get LACT or something similar to downclock your gpu to a safe area, so it doesnt get warm enough to act up.

Also check the other temperatures like CPU.

If the Laptop worked well with Windows 11, it could be a driver problem. Upload the cachyos-bugrepport. sudo cachyos-bugrepport.sh
