Hello to CachyOS!

Hello!! I posted this in Reddit but I’ll also like to post it here! After finally building my first ever PC. I installed Cachyos and it feels amazing! It’s a lot snappier and quick to respond unlike Windows 11 I’m still making small steps of installing things I want/need, and ricing it soon-ish enough while setting up rmpc for local music player [if I fail, Ill use strawberry instead lol]. I’m dual-booting between windows 11 and Cachyos because of things not fully compatible yet in linux, and I’ll be taking my time getting comfortable at mostly using Cachyos but Im so happy to be here!! I can’t wait to rice it and do so much! I’m so excited to be here!

Say hello to my child Prismatic [my PC]. My first ever build!!

which bootloader did you used .

I went for Limine!

why did you chosed limine . While you could chose more stable bootlader like systemd or more feature packed like gump

Huh?

Maybe you mean gummiboot?

Which is actually systemd-boot now so the question is still confusing/confused.

Oh I see they have changed their name to “the-ai-guy” .. now it makes more sense.

Welcome @CreatorJewel.

And Congrats on the build.

that is AI… limine is selected by default in the installer…

which doesn’t have btrfs snapshots out of the box in cachyos?

start maybe with the cachy-update logo so its fits the other icons

And if you want some new/different icons such as for the Application Launcher some are around like;

What’s wrong with Limine? I went for it since it was recommended the most, and I like it. It’s quite simple to use!

Thank you! I’m glad to finally be here after my original experiment on my previous laptop!

Thank u!! Ill be browsing kde’s store and what not to get what I’m looking for

Welcome to the community, hope you enjoy your stay. Do you have any questions?

Just bought an Acer Swift Go16 AI, and installed CachyOS. I’ve been running Garuda, and wanted to see what the fuss is all about. So far, I like it fine.
