Hello From Florida

Hello

I am Shane, I’ve been using Linux for close to 10 years. Most of that time has been spent on Fedora. Recently I tried Niri on CachyOS and this is where I want to be. Having Windows that overlap and things getting lost in a pile of open windows bothers me so a window manager that opens everything to the right is exactly what I need.

I also enjoy that it is a fully functional OS, that I can make changes as needed and not have to spend a ton of time up front to get everything setup before it is useable. Well done with this one!

Happy to be here

Welcome!! Niri is awesome! Did you set up your own shell? (waybar, fuzzel, waypaper, etc) or using Noctalia or DankMaterialShell?

Welcome. I also appreciate a lot niri out of the box with noctalia. For my workflow it is the best and smoothest way to manage the windows even when it comes to use external monitors or projectors.

For now, I am using Noctalia. I will make changes over time but Noctalia is pretty good so far. I need usability first and foremost while I make my own configurations changes. I don’t change much, just a few things here and there.
