Hello all! Just dropping by to say hello and thank you for the excellent distro. I’ve been hoping for awhile now and have always managed to find certain issues but so far Cachy has just worked for me. Has the right amount of preconfigured versus freedom for what I am looking for.
Also the only Arch based distro I have been able to just use with setup (7800X3D and nvidia 4080S) that doesn’t have issues with KDE crashing upon wakeup! Usually have to go tinkering with sleep settings and go through the arch wiki to change settings, but to my surprise Cachy just worked out of the box.
Anyway about myself I am a student in cybersecurity that has gotten into Linux both as a way to learn the environment but also to get away from the Microsoft ecosystem. Their insistence on AI and copilot along with the feeling of always having to take back control of my own computer have pushed me away. Been using Linux for about a year with various distros starting with Linux Mint and most recently Garuda Linux. I only recently heard about CachyOS and decided to try it out and so far I’m loving it.
