Greetings from QC, Canada!

Each year, I try to test a maximum of 3 distributions in a 100% professional and personal environment. Windows has no place in my home - I already have to maintain Microsoft systems at work, and that’s more than enough.

My company allows us to choose whatever operating system we want to use. For my part, I had ZorinOS because it’s easy and you don’t have to question anything. When I switched to an Asus Vivobook 15 PRO 2024, Zorin was absolutely no longer suitable. Too many modifications needed.

So I turned to Manjaro, and there’s nothing to complain about - everything ran really well, it’s beautiful, easy, stable, and up-to-date… However, I had some sound issues, but nothing major.

And then 2025 is approaching… and I felt like changing. I like Manjaro, but I see CachyOS from time to time in my feeds. I only read good things about it: closer to Arch philosophy than Manjaro, very stable, fast, and simple.
So I tried it… I installed it in 15 minutes (even that is fast) and found all my tools via the fantastic “paru” tool:

-Betterbird
-Anydesk
-Anythingllm (really fast)
-Lmstudio (really fast)
-Gpt-4 all (particularly slow)
-Onlyoffice
-Steam
-Brave
-Taskade
-Krita
-Drawio
-GeforceNow Electron
-Spotify
-Signal
-Docker
-Python
-…
And honestly, in a business environment, when you’re doing research and development and need a really solid system, CachyOS scores a lot of points! I’m really pleasantly surprised and impressed by the system’s speed and stability.

I don’t know if I’ll want to test others after this! Meanwhile, it’s one of the best surprises in terms of distribution quality!

Thank you for your excellent work.
