Hello, i am using an RX 9070, latest version on CachyOS. In every game i play i typically lock fps to use less power and have a more stable experience but GPU usage stays at 100% with 220w, no matter what. If I’m playing minecraft for example and lock the fps from 1000+ to 120 the gpu is still full blasting. How do i fix this?
Hello, I’ve checked with LATS, system monitor and mangohud both show 100% GPU usage if a game is open and running, no matter what.
what is this again ?
hmmm, AFAIK mangohud only shown you the total gpu usage
what i’m pointing out earlier is, to know specific process which using the gpu, because we can start from there (incase there is hidden apps running in background which use that gpu to 100%), if it’s only the game process then something need to be debugging for that game, for example, try in another game perhasp? did it produce the same ?
another approach is, did you enable OC mode (incase your gpu has the switch for it) because it might be going full throttle with auto OC mode something like that, well there is lot of path you can trace, but first maybe check, which process that consume those gpu usage..
