ok, Im new to Linux as a desktop environment, one random dude on the internet recommended to try out cachyos…so here Iam.
I need to admit I’m a macOS main user, but Im looking for a linux distro as a companion in combinatin with macOS. I guess my plan is to off load anything that has to do with linux (docker, server, proxmox, etc) with a linux distro instead with macOS.
In terms of cachyos, its really snappy even on my outdated iMac late 2013, I really wanna tryout on my M Macbook pro, sadly not possible yet.
If this is an ARM Macbook, then this does not work. We are waiting currently for official ARM support from archlinux and then would proceed with arm support.
The unoffical archarm is in a really bad state in general, and they reject also a lot of contributions so we skipped this for now.
I see,
Ashi Linux are making process, actually you can download iso that works with Apples’ M ARM, but with limitation, like no thunderbolt, no monitor over usb-c, and no usb-4 support, and since I need thunderbolt and monitor connction over usb-c, I cant give it a test run for fun sake.
Im starring with one eye on those mac m4 minis, imagine with no bloaded OS like linux, this tiny thing catapults you to the moon…lol
