Front Panel combo jack is acting only as output, cant get it to recognise the mic

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z790

Case: Corsair 3000D

I have tried:

  1. hdajackretask
  2. setting snd-hda-intel mode to as many different options as i could find
  3. both 1 and 2 at the same time

I had the same issue Microphone broken by recent update

Seemed to be caused by the new kernel linux-cachyos 6.19.12-1, fixed it by staying on linux-cachyos 6.19.10-1

I rolled back to a snapshot pre-update and added this to /etc/pacman.conf before updating again

IgnorePkg = linux-cachyos linux-cachyos-headers

New kernel linux-cachyos 7.0.0-1 also does not seem to have this problem, a normal update at this point should fix it.

wasnt working in that version, think its probably cause its ALC897
