We have some massive news to share today. Framework, the company behind the modular and repairable laptop revolution, is now sponsoring CachyOS.
For an open-source project like ours, finding hardware partners who genuinely care about Linux is rare. Framework has not only provided us with a Framework Laptop 16 to help us optimize our kernel and packages on modern hardware, but they have also committed to a $250 monthly donation.
While we are still a community-driven project, this contribution amounts to about 10% of our total monthly donations. Every bit of support like this helps stabilize our infrastructure and fuels our ultimate goal: eventually working on CachyOS full-time to bring you the fastest, most optimized Linux experience possible.
Please go show them some love and check out their blog post regarding further sponsorships:
Thanks to Framework and thanks to all of you for using CachyOS!
me too. The modular design is so cool, ease of repair and upgradability make it like a star shining amongst the dark backdrop of the majority of other computers and brands that push for anti repairability and the such.
Well deserved! How are framework laptops quality wise? I had dell XPS series or Lenovo in the past for their all metal build and decent quality. Modularity is great but only if it’s still durable.
I recently became an Arch Tester (obvs running the testing repos on a separate Arch install). And I have noticed how often your name pops up in the testing packages.
It’s nice to see how you also contribute upstream, of course those are packages CachyOS needs too, but your project really does benefit the wider Arch userbase too.
Awesome - just sent them an enquiry about their products and whats involved with purchase, returns and warranty for international customers (like way down here in Australia). Am looking for a new laptop so this caught my attention. Congrats.
