Fan-Control Thinkpad P53

Hello, I’m new to this forum and hope I’ve found the right thread for my problem:
Could it be that Cachy wasn’t controlling the fans on my Thinkpad P53 correctly, causing the system board to overheat?

I switched from Opensuse to Cachy on my Thinkpad T540p a few months ago and am very happy about it. The laptop runs like new and I’m very happy with it.

Half a year ago I took over a Thinkpad P53 and it also ran well with Opensuse. After I switched to Cachy here too, it went out when I was converting a video. Troubleshooting revealed that the system board was defective. Now I’m about to have a new one installed and I’m worried that it might overheat again.

I know this is just a guess - it could have been other faults - but I want to rule out this possibility and reinstall Cachy.

Of course, I can’t provide any internal data from the laptop.

Thank you very much

Hello, the answer of my question is: no.

After installing the new system board i use psensors to control temperature and fan. All is working and i will watch it for some time.
