Hi, I’m on CachyOS with a GTX 1050 Ti running driver 580.159.03 on KDE6 Wayland. Ever since updating my NVIDIA drivers, my entire system becomes sluggish the moment ESO launches with cursor lag, everything freezes up. Running htop shows kwin_wayland immediately jumping to 99% CPU when ESO is open, and dropping back to normal the moment it’s closed. The GPU itself is fine (glmark2 score 2949, temps at 34°C idle, no kernel errors). I tried switching to X11 but KDE6 on CachyOS doesn’t have a working kwin_x11 binary so the desktop broke. Capping frames in-game down to 30fps made no difference. Current ESO launch options: PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%. I spent an embarrassing amount of time going back and forth with Claude AI trying to fix this before accepting that was a mistake and just coming here to ask people who actually know what they’re doing. Any help appreciated.
