After the first update to Nvidia 595 drivers, Nightreign started crashing every time on loading into an expedition. I was able to fix this by adding the PROTON_VKD3D_HEAP=1 environment variable (at least on proton-Cachyos which is what I normally use). The same problem just returned (worked fine yesterday 4/22, now same crashing pattern on 4/23). Something that was updated in the last 24 hours has reintroduced the problem and I have tried rolling back my proton version, running Proton 11 beta, I tried proton GE, tried all of these both with and without PROTON_VKD3D_HEAP=1. Any idea what might be causing this? Does anybody know of a fix?
AFAIK, you need to do it this way now:
VKD3D_CONFIG=descriptor_heap PROTON_VKD3D_HEAP=1
