Dual Monitor-Login Problem bei CachyOS

Hallo liebes CachyOS Forum,

vorab: Ich bin vor 2 Wochen komplett von Windows auf CachyOS umgestiegen und bereue es überhaupt nicht. Also bin ich noch ein Cachy Neuling. Die KI hilft mir aber sehr viel z.b. bei meinen OpenRGB problem bei Corsair usw…. Also bis auf eine Sache konnte mir die KI immer weiterhelfen.

Und zwar benutze ich 2 Monitore und jedes mal wenn ich mein Pc starte, switch mein Benutzer Icon ganz schnell hin und her. Egal ob ich nur ein Monitor anmache oder 2. Die KI hat mir schon paar Tipps gegeben aber das hilft leider nicht. Z.B.: auf das schlichte design “Breeze” umstellen oder “sddm.conf.d/10-wayland.conf” ändern oder “nvidia_drm.modeset=1" in Limine Boot-Parametern ändern. Aber hilft alles garnicht und die KI hat mir dann eine “automatische Anmeldung” empfohlen, die ich aber nicht machen möchte.

Also das springt bzw. switch ganz schnell von links nach rechts. Die passwortabfrage. Muss sie mit der Maus erst anklicken.

KI Zusammenfassung english:

Title: SDDM Login focus jumping between monitors on Wayland (Dual Monitor Setup)

System Info:

  • OS: CachyOS (Plasma 6, Wayland)

  • Bootloader: Limine

  • Monitors: DP-3 (Primary, 2560x1440, Samsung Odyssey G5) and DP-2 (1920x1080, AOC)

  • Layout: AOC is left, Samsung is right (but Samsung is primary).

The Issue: When reaching the SDDM login screen, the user focus/password field quickly jumps from one monitor to the other. I have to manually click the field with the mouse to enter my password.

What I’ve tried so far:

  1. Enabling Early KMS (nvidia-drm.modeset=1 in Limine).

  2. Switching SDDM themes (tried CachyOS Nord and Breeze).

  3. Syncing settings in Plasma (though the “Sync Settings” button was unresponsive/not showing).

  4. Adding 10-wayland.conf with CompositorCommand=kwin_wayland --no-lockscreen.

  5. Verified that ~/.local/share/kscreen is missing/not being populated as expected.

Unfortunately, I can’t help you with your problem, but just as a tip: You can easily have your text translated into English by an AI and then post it here. Although CachyOS has German roots, English is the only language used for support requests in this forum.

bei deinem Problem kann ich dir leider nicht helfen, aber nur so als Hinweis. Deinen Text kannst du von einer KI problemlos ins Englische übersetzen lassen und dann hier posten. Obwohl CachyOS deutsche Wurzeln hat, ist Englisch die einzige Sprache hier im Forum, die für Hilfeanfragen genutzt werden sollte.

I had the exact same problem since I installed Cachs OS a few days ago.

I found a solution in the Archwiki via a KDE Forum:

In the KDE settings under ‘Login Screen’, press ‘Apply Plasma Settings…’, presss Apply and enter your sudo password, then restart. For me that worked perfectly.
