Right when I was feeling comfortable with pulseaudio configs, it got obsoleted. LOL.
The only thing I can think of, is did you forget to add yourself the audio user’s group, and did you forget to set the settings for pro audio in the audio group? I forget what it’s called, but several DAW config resources describe it in their procedures on how to configure a computer system for digital audio use.
According to Chris Titus, daVinci have sound on Linux only in raw and opus format. And probably in paid studio (don’t remember this part if it was about video codecs or sound - check his latest video about LTT Linux challenge, he talks about it near the end).

Yes, that’s all given. Only when starting with “sudo -E /opt/resolve/bin/resolve” I get sound, but then LUT-Folder can’t be opened because dolphin will not open in root mode.
In my opinion, DaVinci Resolve Studio is the best editing system on Linux. Unfortunately, however, Blackmagic treats the Linux version rather neglectfully, repeatedly prioritizing an ancient version of CentOS or Rocky Linux. Yet these operating systems are outdated.
This whole codec mess—whether for audio or video—is simply outdated; if I’m paying for the Studio version, then all the codecs should be available there.
But that’s a different topic, and it doesn’t belong here…
Update: A user in the Blackmagic forum reports that DaVinci Resolve audio works without issues on Ubuntu 25.10 with the same packages (pipewire-pulse + pipewire-alsa) installed. This suggests the issue may be CachyOS/linux-cachyos kernel specific rather than a general PipeWire problem. Could the CachyOS team investigate if there are kernel patches or configurations that prevent normal user ALSA access for DaVinci Resolve?

I had the same issue. For me it turned out the audio codec was not supported. What I did was load my MP4 video into Audacity (obviously only showing as audio) and export the audio as WAV. I was able to sync up the audio I exported from Audacity and video from the original MP4 then work on the video as normal. Not ideal, but better than it not working. I then exported the video once I had worked on it.
