Could CachyOS support donation through Monero?

CachyOS supports donation through Bitcoin and Litecoin but could it support Monero

I would also be happy to donate in monero

Hi.

Yes, it’s cumbersome to convert monero to disposable LTC address just to donate…

And while we’re at it: I’d like to donate money via an oldskool bankwire from my IBAN to your IBAN. Please.

why would they take worthless items?

I wish there was a way to donate fiat money by way of something other than a Patreon subscription. I absolutely despise monthly payments. I even pay my rent annually.

The only way to just send a chunk, one-time, when I want and in the amount I want is crypto. And the only way to pay by fiat is monthly payments. When that changes, lemme know.

I’m sure they can set up something with you. email someone on the dev team. And you pay rent yearly? damn, you’re rich.

No not really. I know someone who last week was offered a job as a lead programmer at an annual pay that exceeds my total assets saved over a lifetime. Good for him!

While not rich, I am comfortable, only because I’m happy to live well within my means.

That rule where they say your total expenditures should be no greater than two-thirds of your net? It’s a good rule and it works really well if you save that extra third—not spend it. Sure I buy stuff. I have a half-dozen laptops and my desktop within arm’s reach. I go places and do things. All paid for in cash from the two-thirds, not the one-third.

It’s easy for me to budget. Officially I’m retired. One-third of my income comes from Social Security (US citizen old-age government program), one-third from dividends and interest (retirement investment account income) and one-third from a part-time gig putting books away at the public library three afternoons a week. My library paycheck goes straight into my Roth account (a type of retirement account) and I live on the other two.

As for rent, I live in a 98-year-old building that’s paid for. No mortgage. The landlord doesn’t have to factor in mortgage interest into the rents. And he knows—long run—it’s cheaper for him to give a good rate to long-term tenants (I’ve been here almost 20 years) than to try to maximize rents, but deal with high turnover tenants who don’t care about the building, thus driving up maintenance costs.

A hundred yards (or meters, take your pick) down the street, a five-year-old building charges nearly twice the rent, PLUS utilities. I pay only electric and fiber, (annually). Sure they have quartz counter-tops, central air, and “luxury” features. Me? My apartment is bigger. I’ll take my Formica counter-tops, use my window A/Cs, and trouser the extra few hundred a month.

It all depends on what you value.

Anyway, I see monthly payments a death by a thousand cuts, and have worked hard to eliminate them from my life.

Sorry for going so far OT.

Like I said, you’re rich. lol

+1 for old school payments or (modern) wero. I’m not into crypto money nor willing to a patreon subscription. Let me donate!
