Change default session from Wayland to X11?

I’ve been looking for a way to change the default session for a while so it starts in X11, not wayland. I’m sure wayland is getting better and better, but it’s in the way of my current use-case. (obs and window capture - I did try to make it work with plugins, but it didn’t) Maybe in the future it’ll work with what I need.

So, how can I make the session start directly in x11? I know I can choose it on the session login, I just want to change the default option.

More info possibly needed. Typically if you change it in your display manager that changes the ‘default’ till you change it again.

I did choose the session to auto-start without the need of password input upon installation. So I didn’t notice it wasn’t x11 until I ran into some issues and noticed one of my apps showing a wayland icon on the taskbar.
Then I had to end the session, and login again manually choosing x11, but that has happened every time I turn on my pc.

Using KDE on this install.

Well perhaps the behavior of SDDM is different with auto-login, I never use it.
Go here, read this:

In plasma,
Settings, login screen, behaviour. Then set to either x11 or wayland.

Well, both Danny and weg are correct in some way, it’s about SDDM, but it’s not just in settings, it’s in GLOBAL THEME.

Why is a login-related option stuck all the way into global theme?

Either way, it’s set now, thank you both!

Things like that…are why nothing makes sense lol.
