I’m having an issue where my earphone volume is extremely quiet whenever I plug them in. I have to manually open alsamixer and raise the Line Out slider to maximum every time. However, as soon as I unplug and replug the earphones, the ‘Line Out’ preset resets to zero. Also, sudo alsactl store doesn’t seem to work. I’m not sure how to make these settings persistent
This works for me, and auto-mute is a feautre for ear phone’s. (Prevent Hearing Loss)
I’ll create a systemd service:
sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/disable-auto-mute.service
This is how I edit that file/service:
[Unit]
Description=Disable ALSA Auto-Mute Mode
After=sound.target
[Service]
Type=oneshot
ExecStart=/usr/bin/amixer -c 0 sset "Auto-Mute Mode" Disabled
[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target
Then enable the service via:
sudo systemctl enable disable-auto-mute.service
A reboot should set it now. Let me know how this works out for you.
there is a problem here that auto mute is always disabled, the only problem is line out
Do this for me please, un-plug earphones now re-plug them and run this:
pactl list sinks | grep -B1 -A9 State:

I knew that, but it still works along with alsamixer settings were changed to your disired level.

In command systemctl status astate.service i have
unit astate.service could not be found
I see now why alsa store isn’t working.
This install is years old here so I have to go over my notes for sound changes.

I’m having the exact same issue with the exact same results for all the terminal commands (running Lenovo Legion). Started about ~1 week ago after a larger update. Rolling back Cachy to pre-update state solves the issue, so it’s very likely due to an update.
Would be great if someone has an idea how to solve this!
