I have a default installation of CachyOS, and I’m encountering an issue with network discovery on my LAN. When I browse the network, CachyOS can only see NAS devices, but it doesn’t detect any of the Windows 10/11 desktop computers and laptops.
Could anyone please advise what steps I need to take to enable CachyOS to see the Windows devices on the same network?
I encountered a similar issue before. Arch Linux has a known problem with recognizing Samba servers automatically. You need to manually enter the server addresses in the format: smb://ip-local/folder.
As far as I know, this bug has persisted in Arch for quite some time, though I might be mistaken.
I am glad for your answer.
But can you be more specific about what should I do exactly?
Because I like to see all Windows devices on LAN without knowing their IP addresses.
Is it possible to start some “autodiscovery” of devices?
