I installed Cachyos earlier but had to use “sudo cachy-rate-mirrors” and “sudo pacman -Sy”… I have to reinstall since Cachyos somehow forgot my PW so I couldn’t log in BUT now its giving me this eeab45c … IDK this installer is such garbage… should’nt be this many issues trying to install… they really need an offline installer.
i’ve seen

if you’re open archlinux.cachyos.org via browser, seems down / error
so yes, i think you need to do change the mirror again or wait until the default repo working properly
the things with CachyOS installer is it’s online installer so if the repo holding those package down / unreachable, it’s likely will be failed, because CachyOS is rolling distro so it will try to install the latest package and will fetch it online, CMIIW tho
Seems to be the same as last time - are we saying this is the outcome even after sorting mirrors and refreshing as before?
sudo cachyos-rate-mirrors
sudo pacman -Sy
I still think they should just have a offline installer then once its installed it can just check online for updates. IDK why they cant do that.
Both offline and online used to be offered. The offline was retired.
So it is not really an issue of ‘cant’.
Yep… I’m getting the same exact error after doing that. Something just seems to be wrong on their end or something
i believe upgrading from too old package version to latest one might be quite challanging because some package is pinned to certain version and even 1 version up the old package is no longer available in any repo, so they decided to always use online method perhaps?
tbh idk, but if you want to ask or request the offline version, i suggest creating issue on the github for this, maybe in here ? GitHub - CachyOS/cachyos-calamares: CachyOS Calamares · GitHub
most likely you forgot your own password, unless you have some serious drive issue and password hashes got corrupted.
you can reset your password if you have local access and you didn’t encrypt the filesystem.
you can also reset other user’s password once you have root access, you need to google a little bit before you reinstall the whole system.
Its to late for me to reset the PW but that’s nice to know. I did google it a bit and didn’t really find anything but then again I was searching for Cachyos and not Archlinux so I didn’t see that article(kinda forgot Cachyos is based on Arch).
Got fed up trying to install Cachyos that I went to Bazzite. That installation actually worked without a problem.
this solution isn’t even specific for arch, on most systemd distros should be similar and I think setting the runlevel to 1 should still work
When I tried reinstalling Cachy the first time it wiped my SSD so I couldn’t even have tried that. Also this is my first time using a Linux distro so naturally there is gonna be some hiccups.
Bazzite installed without a hitch BUT IDK if that one needed to be online for the install. I’m just gonna stick to Bazzite since it seems to perform about the same as Cachy(when I had Cachy working). Also: I actually didn’t forget my PW… my Keyboard was the issue lol. One of the keys for my PW decided to not work and I only notice that when setting up Bazzite lol.
