CachyOS on Microsoft Surface Pro no Wifi-Conection

Hello, after installing CachyOS on the Microsoft Surface Pro, the network connections via WLAN are not possible.

This computer has no LAN connection!

The Network says there are no connections.

Thank you for your help,

Andreas

Hi,

I had same problem on my Surface 4 and what worked for me was installation of Linux Surface kernel and linux-firmware-marvell. I had to connect my laptop through external switch to LAN but I think you might be able to download it on different computer, with internet connection, and transfer it to your surface device via usb but I won’t help you with installation since I am quite new to Linux. I am adding link to GitHub where you can download Linux Surface kernel https://github.com/linux-surface/linux-surface

Having installed CachyOS on both a Surface Book 1 and Surface Pro 6, both had Wifi working on the live install image, but after boot, the Wifi adapter was not recognized.

Luckily, I have a dock with ethernet and found that installing linux-firmware-marvell either through pacman or octopi fixed the issue.

I had this issue too (Surface Pro 3), this answer was really helpful, thank you…

I didn’t need to change the kernel, and without a backup ethernet connection I had to grab the linux-firmware-marvell package from here:

and transfer it via usb.

It all works perfectly.
