CachyOS KDE-Plasma/Wayland not returning from screen off

I apologize if this is a repeat, I just can’t find it anywhere.

Whenever the screen blanks from inactivity, it won’t come back, I have to ctrl+f3, ctrl+f2 to switch to shell and back to recover the screen to log in. I’m living with the other graphical glitches for now, but that one is getting to me.

Could perhaps be related to an issue of the current open source driver from Nvidia not properly re-initializing the GPU after waking up from sleep or hibernation.

According to a discussion in nvidia-drm: Fix display not waking after suspend/resume by destenson · Pull Request #996 · NVIDIA/open-gpu-kernel-modules · GitHub they are aware of the issue though and have already fixed it in the candidate for the next version (hopefully).

I’m still having problems with it, but wanted to clarify what I am experiencing just in case. It is not immediate screen blank or long term power save. It does turn the monitor back on, but screen stays blank and requires ctrl+f2 ctrl+f3 or similar variant.
