CachyOS Handheld, no Launch Installer option

Hi,

First time posting this in the cachyOS forum since I’m interested in trying out linux for gaming. I am currently trying to install cachyOS on my ROG Xbox Ally X and downloaded the Handheld version directly from this website and used Rufus to flash the ISO to my usb. I managed to get it to boot but when I looked at the cachyOS hello GUI, i can’t find the Launch installer option.

I tried maximizing the screen and made sure that it is connected to the wifi but I haven’t had any luck getting the Launch installer button to appear in the GUI. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi Lumiere. Were you ever able to fix this? I’ve just tried this on my ASUS ROG Xbox Ally (non-X) and cannot see the launch installer option. I assume these Xbox models are not supported, however the documentation isn’t clear because it says CachyOS provides an edition for handheld devices, such as the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, and Legion Go. The wording such as with no explicit only supports is what got me here. Very keen to get this up and running.

EDIT: looks like there is an icon on the taskbar that shows as a blank piece of paper, the same as when you remove an application but the placeholder shortcut is there. FWIW, there is an Install to Hard Drive icon in a similar position when installing Bazzite, so it looks like the CachyOS equivalent is missing.

EDIT 2: OK so it turns out that the launch option was on CachyOS Hello but it was offscreen due to the default scaling being set to 210%. Dropping this down to 125% revealed the entire window. @CachyOSTeam would it be possible to either rearrange the GUI or set default resolution to 125% or 150% on handhelds to ensure the entire window for CachyOS Hello is visible? It’d help those on smaller devices.
