It may surprise some that, actually, the recommended way to install from the AUR is with pacman - see the Arch wiki.
The only comment about theprocess of using the Chaotic AUR in this thread is the following. is this the issue that you fixed?
I spent almost 2-3 hours trying to solve the problem I was experiencing. When I saw something related to Chaotic-aur, I wanted to share it, but it unrelated to the topic, I edited 
Those instructions are still defective - we do not finish anything by simply pacman -Sy .. least of all applying a new repository.
This is exemplary of exactly the kind of compounding problem the chaotic-aur represents; the overwhelming majority of casual users who might think they ‘need’ it are also the same who are less capable of determining what is and is not acceptable or desirable for their systems. Chaotic introduces further abstraction with higher degrees of vulnerability for users who cannot manage any threats or problems - and in a way that makes foreign things seem official. And again its entire concept is largely attractive exactly to those users who are not experienced enough to understand why any of that might be a bad idea.
It is all bad enough as it is.
There is no reason to make it worse by adding some fancy button for users to press.
Though of course there is nothing that is going to stop anyone from adding Chaotic if they so choose.
It was already somewhat succinctly said by peter 2 years ago;
Chaotic-aur might not be for everyone, but based on the recent AUR packages hack, trusted maintainers could help protect the average Cachyos user.
It’s too much to expect all users to read AUR update code changes line-by-line
And yet, this is what is expected of AUR users. There is no way around that as we just see with the current Atomic Arch disaster.
Just in setting expectations, Windows users were advised to not blindly and randomly click on links either and download and run random executables.
Just because people don’t/won’t do it, it still is good advise that they should heed.
Well, you don’t have to install dozens of packages via chaotic AUR—just the essentials (in my case, three packages). The same naturally applies to the AUR as well.
As a side note: when I integrated chaotic AUR into CachyOS, you were still on the team, so I thought it was a good fit.
