[bug]When playing videos, the system sometimes suddenly becomes very laggy and can only be restored by restarting

This problem may occur whether you are playing an online video, or a local video. I have access to the logs, but I can’t tell you why this problem is occurring, it’s beyond my capabilities. I need help.
The no watchdog seems to limit my ability to find further logs of this problem.

Here are the kernel logs from the most recent capture when this error occurred, watch for the log at 19:16:46:

There’s nothing useful in the log. In fact, this only shows up boot logs and nothing you’re doing on your system. Getting to know your system specifications may also be helpful.

Here’s my hardware and software info :

So this strikes me as an issue with PSR on the amdgpu kernel driver. This is supposedly fixed in 6.12.0, so you should wait for that kernel update.

I have already used the Linux 6.12 kernel (linux-cachyos-autodo), yet I am still encountering the aforementioned issue. The PSR problem seems to remain unresolved!

The error log I captured is here:

I found similar issues discussed online. In fact, far too many people are encountering this problem:

I’m losing my mind. I can’t believe such a critical bug is still present. The only workaround for now seems to be disabling PSR.

It’s fixed in in 6.12.0 stable. rc7 doesn’t have the fix.

Thanks for the info sir! I’ll keep a special eye out for the next cachyos kernel update! By the way, autofdo seems to be working well, I can feel the system getting faster!

Unfortunately, it seems that the official version of linux6.12 has not completely solved this problem.

That seems to be the consensus for the people affected too. I’m watching the issue and I’ll follow up whenever there’s an actual fix.
