hi guys i could use some help.
when i started my pc today i got an error message about EFI and it didnt find the system\kernel.
now im on the live cd and dont know what to do.
is there a way to repair boot or just reinstall it so i can use my os installation?
you need to acces swith chroot
the prompt should be red with #
always exit for quit chroot
go in chroot
sudo su
cachy-chroot
journalctl -b -1 -p4
pacman -Syu
mkinitcpio -P
sync
exit
on step mkinitcpio , check there is no error
where to chroot in? i got different options.

i also saw something about my zstd data is corrupt
i think there something wrong ,
between option zstd , kernels build image and btrfs.
there is some value restriction to boot initramfs fors zstd with uefi
kernel version 6.12.10

efi/zboot: Limit compression options to GZIP and ZSTD
commit 0b2c29fb68f8bf3e87a9d88404aa6fdd486223e5 upstream.
For historical reasons, the legacy decompressor code on various
architectures supports 7 different compression types for the compressed
kernel image.
EFI zboot is not a compression library museum, and so the options can be
limited to what is likely to be useful in practice:
- GZIP is tried and tested, and is still one of the fastest at
decompression time, although the compression ratio is not very high;
moreover, Fedora is already shipping EFI zboot kernels for arm64 that
use GZIP, and QEMU implements direct support for it when booting a
kernel without firmware loaded;
- ZSTD has a very high compression ratio (although not the highest), and
is almost as fast as GZIP at decompression time.
Reducing the number of options makes it less of a hassle for other
consumers of the EFI zboot format (such as QEMU today, and kexec in the
future) to support it transparently without having to carry 7 different
decompression libraries.

Can you boot? There doesn’t seem to be anything fatal in the log.
sadly no.
the systemd manager starts with the normal options for cachy and cachy initramfs fallback and nothing works.
i always get a message that the kernel or system is not found or something.

Try to reinstall the kernel from chroot

i just chroot into the system partiton as describted above. do i need to mount the boot partiton also for that?

i also didnt reinstall the system and it stoped working this installation is like a month old
Yeah that looks correct to me, what about a different kernel, e.g. linux-cachyos-bore
or linux-cachyos-lts
i could try that but i dont think it will do much because it was running on the newest standard cachy kernel the system was up to date i did almost daily systemupdates. the only thing that i did different was reinstall all packages and shut it down … the next day i had this problem. and i did as good as nothing to the system if i remember correctly the only systemrelevant thing i did was activate the gsp in the nvidia conf because against all odds my card runs better with it and all games crashed after a few minutes when it was off. i tryed to change it back over the livestick but there is no nvida.conf anymore.
also the kernelrebuild i did yesterday did change something at boot.
i thought it could be something nvidia related because of my latest journalctl -b -1 -p4

just wanna let you know i got back into my system :3
i just reinstalled the cachy nvidia open branch again and run the path that stephane suggested.
after that i rebootet and my system started without any errors.
