Hello! I am a relatively new CachyOS user, and this is my second post. This is a fresh install of CachyOS with the gaming packages and a handful of apps from the CachyOS Hello app I am running.
I have run into a strange issue I would rather attempt to resolve than ignore as I don’t fully understand the implications of this particular part being broken in my computer. At the bottom right of my screen a notification will pop up every few minutes that reads “USB Device Detected Foxconn / Hon Hai e10a has been connected.” from KDED. I did some surface level searching online and haven’t found anyone with this exact issue. Any help or pointers would be much appreciated.
I have so far attempted a Cold Boot, but have avoided making any changes to configs or putting in any commands myself.

You can try
Disable Bluetooth power management (common cause of disconnects):
AutoEnable=true
And under [General] (if not present)
Experimental=true
then sudo systemctl restart bluetooth
You can blacklist usb autosuspend for that device as well with temporarily to test if it fixes it
echo "0489 e10a" | sudo tee /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usb/unbind # temporary test
If notifications stop, make it permanent by adding a udev rule or kernel param (usbcore.autosuspend=-1 or specific quirk).
I have decided to mute the notifications through the popup itself, my setup as it stands is a little unstable to begin with it seems. I’ve managed to get everything set up and working until I finish putting together the last few parts of this PC, and will get into permanent fixes and solutions after everything is set and in place. I did attempt to uncomment those two lines in that config file and it didn’t seem to have an effect after restarting, so I went back to the config and reverted the changes I made just in case.
Thank you for your help! I will tackle the core of the issue in the future (assuming an update doesn’t fix what may just be a niche hardware thing interacting with the OS in a weird way)

if you know which system update caused the issue to pop up, it’s possible to narrow things down a bit.
/var/log/pacman.log contains information about package installs and updates, if you share that alongside when you updated, then the list of possible culprits can be reduced to the packages updated at that point
Try this and see if it helps

Thanks for the reply. I will check as soon as I am back home in a few days after the holidays.

Hi all,
I am curious about the specs, I have a feeling it may have something to do with the exact motherboard I’m using. I won’t be much help unfortunately but I’d imagine a random passerby may eventually come to contribute/review this and it may help them as well.
This is my current Motherboard: MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI AM5 AMD B850 SATA 6Gb/s 5G Network Wi-Fi7 DDR5 Motherboard
I’m also using a MSI motherboard - MSI PRO X870-P WIFI (MS-7E47) REV 1.1AMD X870 chipset to be exact. Unfortunately, MSI’s website doesn’t specify neither the make nor the model of wireless network card used for this motherboard. They only advertise that it supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Running the lsusb command doesn’t yield any more information. It only returns Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0489:e10a Foxconn / Hon Hai entry for the onboard Bluetooth adapter. So that’s that. If anyone wants more information, tell me which commands should I run. I’m not a complete beginner. I’ve been using Linux on and off for about 8 years

Can somebody see a package, that has anything to do with bluetooth?
It is defenitly a problem with the MSI MAG Tomahawk WIFI AMD X870. I saw several users who reported the issue with Bluetooth.
I am guessing it should be a problem with every motherboard that has the Foxconn / Hon Hai chip on it.

I’ll try upgrading my system once more, but this time without those packages. I know that some of them differ from the ones @Gimmely has (after all I run Nobara instead of CashyOS), but It might worth a try. In the worse case scenario, I’ll just use Timeshift to restore a snapshot before this upgrade.
Sadly, I wasn’t able to determine which package causes this issue. Even version locking them (i.e. updating everything else) didn’t solve the issue. Some else must causing this, but I don’t know what
Bluetooth hardware with Foxconn/Hon Hai chip (USB ID 0489:e10a), driven by the btusb module — this is the same troublesome chipset found on many AMD X870/B850 boards (and some X670), known for instability on Linux, especially cycling connects/disconnects, hardware errors, and failed resets.
Seems this chip has issues on most linux distro’s

That is annoying. It worked perfectly until mid-December, so hopefully someone knows why the chip is troublesome and can fix it. I would guess that a lot of people have this problem since it’s a fairly popular motherboard.
