Apple Wireless Keyboard connecting but not typing

Hi all,

Has anyone had issues getting an Apple Wireless keyboard to work in CachyOS? I have it connected via Bluetooth but typing does nothing. I am sure there is something missing or some configuration I am not setting. Anyone else got this working?

Thanks!

Maybe it helps…

Had the same problem, this is the funny side of the history:

To get my keyboard working I needed Internet, the internet said to me: Do not connect to internet to make the keyboard working… and voila! the pairing process worked!

You have to make bluetooth work before connecting to wifi because they share the same card.

Thanks for the post but I am able to pair and connect to the keyboard, however, any input on the keyboard does not appear. I can verify that it is connected in bluetoothctl.

Just for added info, the keyboard works without issue on PopOS and Fedora.

I decided to recheck my assumptions and I found these instructions online and followed them exactly as shown on the page. When I did this I was asked to “Confirm passkey” which I was never asked before. Once I confirmed and followed the rest of the directions, it works! Not sure why the passkey confirmation didn’t come up before or why the keyboard seemed connected but wasn’t authenticated(?) but I am just happy this is working now.
