After replacing the kernel, my internet router stopped working!

Note that it didn’t just stop the internet, my router stopped working! The LED that is normally green when there is internet has now turned orange. This usually happens when I don’t have internet from my provider.
How can the kernel stop the router. If there is a lack of some drivers or something in the kernel, I just won’t have internet on the computer, but the router should work.
This is the kernel I tried and the problem occurred:

The kernel doesn’t touch your router, so the issue is something else.

This surprises me because when I rolled back the old kernel and the problem went away.
I still can’t believe this could happen.

It has to be coincidence if you didn’t actually update the router itself.
Though it could be that the line was dead because your pc didn’t have ethernet connectivity via kernel support…in which case it’s your interpretation that is at fault.
