Accolades for the Hard Work That Goes Into CachyOS

I’ve used A LOT of distros over the years. Hundreds of different ones. No joke. I used to be a fan of that guy that helps with the antiX distro (forgot his name. he’s some kind of hotshot programmer, uses a massive mac to do coding), but for my money, CachyOS is the best.

I’ve settled on Arch-based distros. Them other ones, the Debian-based (or heaven-forbid, Ubuntu-based), and other non-Arch distros are just too limiting, software wise. Debian feels SO OLD and RIGID. I like some of the philosophies of some of the distros, but they all fall short in one way or another. Often its software, but even some super-clean distros, like openSUSE, can’t compete with CachyOS. openSUSE is SLOW, and I have a habit, based on my Windows (Windoze) days of throwing hardware at the problem, & openSUSE still can’t keep up (& I like those ex-Novell guys).

I abandoned Windows and sold all my Microsoft stock when they released Vista. That pile of coding-manure was not releasable, but they did so anyways.

Apple stepped in to fill the void, but I don’t “get it.” I have a MacBook Air, but running MacOS (or OSX, which really is IBM’s old OS, so I hate the name) put users in Apple-jail. That’s almost kinda okay. Apple’s stuff being based on BSD, which is UNIX, has a solid core, it’s just all that other foo-foo, and trusting the OS to make good decisions … that’s a problem for me. Mac’s are good for non-computer people. Most of the truly hardcore system programmers I know don’t like that world. I rarely use my MacBook.

EndeavorOS is no competition to CachyOS, despite the noise from the peanut-gallery that it’s super good. I’ve run it. I tried running it for a while. It’s okay. It’s just not as good & Cachy.

Like I said, I’ve basically run every distro that’s out there, and many that no longer are, and CachyOS is shredding it. DOMINATING the landscape, like a pro-baller at a kindergarten-league.

Keep it up, guys. You are appreciated.

Glad you’re excited, but let’s not pretend EndeavourOS isn’t an excellent distro and has been a reliable jumping on point for ppl into the Archsphere.

But yes, kudos to CachyOS for pushing the envelope and utilizing aspects of my components that are usually ignored/overlooked.

Cachy really is flat out faster. This is the only distro that has presented a real case for moving away from EndeavourOS.
