Hey folks.
So here is the thought, I am in the process of building a computer for just doing art, 3d etc
I have 2 3060 NVIDIA cards and 2 tesla k80s I was given,
Here is my question for people smarter than I.
Is it possible to build this machine with the two 3060s and k80 using cachyos??
Actually, this is the first question, first to see if it is possible?
Then I can move on from there.

Just for anyone that is able to give you an answer, it will be useful to know how you would like to use a setup with 4 gpu’s. For example. Will you be using one gpu for your monitors and then the other two gpu’s for your video editiong applications or will you be doing something differently?
That is something I need to work out. If it is actually doable then I need to work out what is going to do what.
TBH, this is all new to me. My world is community development, so I need to learn this from others.
But, saying that your example made me think and added more question to my document.
Well, one card I would imagine needs to run the 2 monitors, maybe technically 3.
one for my programmes, so blender, davinci resolve, krita, gimp etc.
I do have to figure out how the tesla k8 works not something i have ever had the experiance to work with.

Any information, suggestion are always welcome.
Let me be up front about video-editing and a multi-gpu and setup, I have no experience with either. Technically speaking you should be able to use two gpu’s to plug your monitors in(if you have that many monitors)and then have the other two gpu’s in your system and use those for video editing. Going back to video-editing as an example, I have seen that with Davinci Resolve you have to select which gpu you want to use for video-processing. I would think that would be the same for most other applications that relate to video-editing. Hopefully someone else will come along that has some actual experience to share with you on that, but technically it’s possible.
Thanks @anon50108476 all advice is helpful.

The Motherboard i have is [MSI Enthusiastic Gaming Intel Z270 DDR4 VR Ready HDMI USB 3 ATX Motherboard (Z270 GAMING M5)] https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z270-GAMING-M5/Specification
One thing I forgot is that most consumer motherboards only have two slots for a gpu, so it would be a hardware limit as in how many you can fit in your motherboard and case. Not sure if there are any with 4 gpu slots and if that would even fit with total space knowing how big gpu’s are now days. I think yours has 2 has well, those silver/black slots.
Do note that the k80 has a TDP of 300W, and since you plan on using 2, that’s a combined TDP of 600W! And you still have to count the RTX’s which is around the same, so you need a really good PSU to handle all that power as well as a really good CPU cooler. TBH, I’d avoid the k80s; they’re older, slower and don’t offer any advantage over the RTX 3060. Also the k80 doesn’t have any video output, so you’ll be using the mobo’s/CPU’s iGPU. I’d say just use the RTXs and save yourself some time and frustration.
oh, good point thanks for that.
Appreciate it.
