There seems to be a few issues with the latest kernel upgrade, I am posting this if it helps otehr to debug.
I have a discrete AMD 9060 card running through an occulink.
When KDE display is set to “prefer efficiency”, the GPU use goes to 100% in steam games and gpu temperatures climbs to max and I shut the computer down.
When KDE display is set to " prefer color accuracy" the GPU use goes to 97% (fluctuates -10% down but mostly sticks to 97%) and the temperature hovers near max.
So its a workaround but not a fix for gaming for me.
( several games, several protons all checked, all do the same)
Hello
Can you check?
inxi -Gxx
and:
journalctl -b -p warning
To see if everything is normal?

Immediately after a crash or abnormal behavior:
journalctl -b -g amdgpu
or:
dmesg | grep -iE “amdgpu|drm|gpu”
Continuing the discussion from 100% AMD 9060 GPU use in Steam games since last kernal update:
Thanks for the reply, I restored to a earlier snap shot and then updated… before reading your response. All gpu temperature issues seem to be resolved. Your script has helped me as I appear to have some issues in my bios, with no solutions offered by the manufacturer. AI seems to feel the warnings are minor. Thanks again.
