Programming since the early 80’s (Zilog’s Z80 assembler)
First linux: Slackware with a 0.99 kernel. on 2nd day I was compiling a new kernel after configuring it. It took more than 24h on that i386 machine.
Jumped to first Debian versions. Submitted patches to base packages supporting hardware profiles (because I used the same PC at work and home, different monitors, XF86 configs…). They were rejected because I didn’t write any documentation.
I contributed to Linux kernel during the 1.2.x days (Ok, just typo corrections on the make config, but…)
I’ve choosen Gentoo for servers while working as a sysadmin.
