Will CachyOS run on NVIDIA Project DIGITS?

NVIDIA Project DIGITS looks like a fantastic workstation for an ML hobbyist besides developers for $3000. One PETAFLOP on your desktop! I would buy it as a daily driver and run hobby ML projects. Will CachyOS run on it? "2025 is gonna be exciting!!

It’s made on custom ARM CPU, so no, CachyOS wouldn’t run here since it’s tailored for x86. I’m not even sure if this thing’ll work with any distro that is not nvidia’s.

This looks cool, maybe I’ll buy one in ten years after the AI craze when its $30 on ebay. might even have mainline support by then :fire:

(to answer the original question about cachyos. Maybe if your willing to put a lot of time building everything for arm… given that nvidia will even let you run your own os on it. And even then desktop software support on arm quite bad at the moment. x86 to arm translation layers like fexemu and box64 are rapidly progressing but its still ends up being a headache to configure and tweak everything to run decently. TLDR, probably dont waste your money on it if you want an easy desktop experience on anything other than what nvidia provides.)

NVIDIA did not mention that one petaflop is of fp4 calculations!

It seems like a special Ubuntu ARM flavour runs on it.

I could not help thinking about what I could buy for $3000 in 10 years when this is $30! I am infected with FOMO.

I think you are right @RandomLegoBrick :+1:
