Wayland black screen after login

Updated my cachyos arch linux yesterday to the latest plasma update 6.3, and now i can’t boot into my wayland session. I can however boot into x11, which is how i’m writing this message. All i get is the aurorus eagle on the right top corner, and a cursor symbol on the top left. Any assistance would be most helpful.

Not sure what the best resolution is here, if i should downgrade kwin and plasma, or the nvidai-utils.

I’m seeing this a lot lately… can you try sudo pacman -S extra/kwin

Apparently this was an issue related to NVIDIA+KDE+HDR, performing a rm ~/.config/kwinoutputconfig.json seemed to fix the issue for me.

verified by returning on hdr and issue happened again.

Yeah, can you try kwin from Arch. We have some HDR patches in Kwin. If they’re problematic I need to remove them.

Yeah i installed the kwin from the extras package and it didn’t fix my issue. Now i haven’t tried deleting my kwinoutputconfig. then installing the kwin package and turning on hdr. I can try that if you would like.

Yeah, please try with a clean config too.

It works great so far! deleted the config, installed the kwin from extra, hdr was already enabled, disabled it and reenabled it, and rebooted the pc, and it seems to be working fine. Thanks for all your guys hard work as always. Any recommended way of enabling hdr in lutris by chance?

Ideally -6, but if that one doesn’t work you can try the others too.

What is the recommended way you suggest for me to install these? just copy the files to the different system directories?

nevermind i forgot about sudo pacman -U lol. I just woke up

Seems to be working fine so far. I will let you know if anything changes. I installed version 6
