Very slow restart or shutdown

Hi,

It started happening, now more than once. After pressing it to restart or shutdown, it keeps spinning for a very good amount of time.

Also today, after the long period of the spinning on the screen, it went forward to a complete black screen and the monitor light went blinking and I had to do a hard reset with the button.

What would be the setting to see what is happening below that spinning in realtime?

Still seem to be random, to the point.

Another weird behavior after a restart just happened. After logging in, the screen went gray/black with the monitor power light blinking again. This time I fixed by turning the second monitor on.

what desktop environment your using

echo $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP
GNOME

Pretty sure you can see that in the url above.

oh i thought this was a kde issue

Why? Know any similar issue on KDE?

Remove quiet splash from kernel parameters.

FYI this log won’t show anything since the problem is on restart/shutdown, and the bug report command will only capture logs from the current session. What would be more useful (hopefully) is to get a journal log from the previous boot (assuming long shutdown happened):

journalctl -b -1 | paste-cachyos

Right, had forgot about that.

Yeah, next time. As I have restarted the system again without issues.

yeah it will shutdown the apps/play sounds before shutting down the system
