"I used Kilocode (npm install -g @kilocode/cli). Of course, I backed up my system and /home to an external drive first. Then I asked it to draft a plan based on your post and tweaked it to fit my setup.
Initially, it generated one massive script, so I asked it to break it down into smaller, step-by-step scripts. Then I figured—why run them manually? I restarted the tool with root privileges and told it to follow the plan, logging everything as it went. Reboots, updates, config tweaks, and other routine tasks—the AI handled it all with a bit of prompting.
It did break GRUB during the setup, but I booted from a Live ISO, and the AI managed to fix it, configure the bootloader, and even apply CachyOS-style theming. Overall, if you know what you’re doing and guide it properly, AI is a huge help with the grunt work."
