I have the same problem, happened after upgrade. Running an intel machine with integrated graphics. It gets stuck on black screen after starting sddm, so it is not related to boot.

I rolled back kwin and it now works for me.

This issue would happen to me every other day give or take. Ever since I disabled plymouth the issue seems to have gone away. So as far as I can tell, that seems to be the solution. Thank you again for the help!
